Formation of KFBA

Kenya Forex Bureaus Association was formed and registered on June 2011 with a primary goal of advocating the interests of members, promote new products and services and enhance profitability while encouraging members to uphold professionalism and remain compliant with Foreign Exchange Regulatory Polices and Guidelines.

Some of the objectives of the Association include:

• To promote and develop in Kenya sound and progressive principles, practices and conventions on Forex Bureau business and to contribute to the development of Forex Business.
• To promote the growth of the Forex business in Kenya and to promote and protect the general interests of members of the Association.
• To maintain close co-ordination and liaise with the Central Bank of Kenya and other relevant organisations for realizing the objects and purposes of the Association.
• To act as a representative of a member or members of the association in matters relating to the Forex bureau business, its operations and regulations.

The Kenya Forex Bureaus Association has since changed its name to Kenya Forex & Remittance Association in order to accommodate all Forex Bureaus and Money Remittance Companies and in light of bringing together a fully compliant Foreign Exchange and Remittance Industry in the Kenyan Economy.
